"Thank you for your website. I use it every year for science projects of our 5 kids. I love that you guide the students to go deeper with background research. My daughter loved the ARTbot project and her project won Grand Champion at her science fair! Thank you for making it so easy for a non-science mom to guide her students in science projects."

Build three different kinds of wiggling, wobbling robots for a fun introduction to robotics!

With this kit you can build:

  • Bristlebots: tiny, wiggling robots built using toothbrush heads
  • Art Bots: wobbly robots that draw as they move
  • Brushbots: supersized Bristlebots built from scrub brushes

The Bristlebot kit provides an exciting and creative hands-on introduction to the world of robotics and electronics! You will build simple electrical circuits that bring your robots to life, using vibrational motion to propel them. With three different robots to build, you can explore a wide range of movements and simple robot behaviors, from shuffling about randomly to scribbling with a marker.

The kit includes enough electronics components to build a total of four robots, two Brushbots or Art Bots (or one of each) and two Bristlebots. All electronic components come ready to be assembled, no soldering or wire stripping needed, making this kit ideal for beginners.

Each kit contains:

2   3V DC motors with leads
2 2xAA battery holder with leads
 4 AA batteries
 2 vibrating motors with leads
2 coin cell batteries with leads*

Instructions for this kit are available online, see Additional Information for links to the instructions and more.

You will also need from home:
Depending on the robot being built, craft items, disposable cups, toothbrush heads, and/or scrub brushes are needed. Please consult the instructions for each robot for a complete list of additional materials.
