Build three different kinds of wiggling, wobbling robots for a fun introduction to robotics!
With this kit you can build:
- Bristlebots: tiny, wiggling robots built using toothbrush heads
- Art Bots: wobbly robots that draw as they move
- Brushbots: supersized Bristlebots built from scrub brushes
The Bristlebot kit provides an exciting and creative hands-on introduction to the world of robotics and electronics! You will build simple electrical circuits that bring your robots to life, using vibrational motion to propel them. With three different robots to build, you can explore a wide range of movements and simple robot behaviors, from shuffling about randomly to scribbling with a marker.
The kit includes enough electronics components to build a total of four robots, two Brushbots or Art Bots (or one of each) and two Bristlebots. All electronic components come ready to be assembled, no soldering or wire stripping needed, making this kit ideal for beginners.
Each kit contains:
| 2||5-12V DC toy motors with leads|
| 2||9V battery holders with leads|
| 2||9V batteries|
| 2||3V vibrating motors with leads|
| 2||3V coin cell lithium batteries with leads*|
*Important Note: Each of the included coin cell batteries will last for 20 minutes at optimum performance, which is enough time to complete the project. However, it is hard to resist playing with the Bristlebots, so if you would like to have extra play time or demo time at your science fair, we suggest you use the "add-on" option above to include additional batteries in your kit.
Printed instructions are not included with the science kit. Project directions are available online.
You will also need from home:
Depending on the robot being built, craft items, disposable cups, toothbrush heads, and/or scrub brushes are needed. Please consult the instructions
for each robot for a complete list of additional materials.

My daughters and I built two brushbots and two bristlebots. They were fun and easy to assemble and the girls loved watching them wiggle around when we were done.
