With this kit, you will perform a series of tests to identify an unknown substance. Like a forensic chemist, you will receive an unlabeled white powder that was found in a cafeteria and your job is to determine if that powder is a normal ingredient (salt, sugar, or cornstarch), or if it is really aspirin that could have accidentally gotten into the food. Following the procedures in Science Buddies Crime Scene Chemistry project you will perform a chemical analysis to determine the nature of the mysterious white powder.
